On September 26, the Vladivostok branch of TIS LOGISTICS celebrated the company's anniversary with a sailing regatta.

Autumn in Vladivostok greeted the participants with bright sunshine and a wind that generously filled the sails and propelled the yachts at full speed. Nine crews of four each took part in the competition, and the course was laid out in a “loop” formation. As a result, the race turned into a thrilling contest from the very first minutes: turns came one after another, while head-on waves and gusty winds added to the risk and demanded that the crews remain fully focused and trust their captains.

“Every turn was a challenge: if you hesitate, the boat loses speed. But it’s precisely in those moments that the team comes together as one,” the participants share.

The challenges at sea seemed to mirror everyday situations in logistics: sometimes a sharp turn, sometimes headwinds, and sometimes a wind that you have to catch at the right moment and use to your advantage. And, just as in business and at sea, only a close-knit team is capable of overcoming difficulties and reaching the finish line together.

The final races were literally neck-and-neck, and over the course of four races, no team managed to finish first more than once. “When the yacht is sailing close-hauled, you feel not only the thrill of the race but also the shoulders of your teammates right beside you, with whom you work as a single, well-coordinated unit. It’s an invaluable experience in teamwork,” the participants note.

There were plenty of emotions right from the start: “At first, it was scary—we’d never faced such fast boats and strong winds before. But after the very first race, we were fully immersed in the competition, felt the thrill, and trusted the elements,” the crew members recall.

In the end, the main takeaway from the regatta was clear: friendship triumphed, and the TIS LOGISTICS team not only got a boost of energy and excitement but also another vivid example of how, together, we can overcome any challenge.
